How does Home Care work?
As we age, it is likely that at some stage we will begin to find certain tasks a struggle. Health issues may also limit our ability to do everything we used to do.
Home Care is government-funded flexible support that, for those who are eligible, provides funding to cover the assistance you need for the things you are struggling with.
Home Care helps make life easier and more enjoyable for you and can provide peace of mind for your loved ones, including your carer or partner. Home Care recognises that older people prefer to live in their own home and is intended to fund appropriate care and support that is tailored to your specific needs and enables you to remain in your community, safely.
People aged 65 and above are eligible for a Home Care package. The funding is based on your level of needs. An assessment will determine if you will receive home care funding, as well as which level of funding it will be (between 1 - 4).
